State Approved Alcohol Education Classes (MIP)

Chemical Dependency Counseling for:

Youth

Court Ordered Counseling for Probationers and Parolees

Anger Management Groups
Duration: 10 weeks

Life Skills Classes
An 8 hour program that meets on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Adult Basic Education

GED Proficiency Preparation

GED Proficiency Preparation Classes are designed to provide the 
student with all of the necessary skills required to successfully pass
the GED high school equivalency exam as determined by the 
Texas Education Agency.

Classes Offered: Writing, Reading, Social Studies, Science, Math

Supportive Group Counseling Program

This is a 12-week program that includes an assessment/intake interview, a weekly supportive group counseling session and individual appointments scheduled as needed.

Assessment/Intake Interview: Scheduled appointments are on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday. Appointments are usually 1 to 1 ½ hours in length. Assessment payment is to be made at the time of the assessment, as well as an initial supportive group counseling session payment.

Supportive Group Counseling Session: Scheduled for 10:00 AM on Saturday and are one hour in length.

Individual Counseling Sessions: Scheduled for 10:00 AM on Saturday and are one hour in length.

HOPE (Helping Other People Excel)
HOPE is divided into two separate groups - one for males and one for females.  
Although HOPE is targeted for youth ages 13-21 years old who are considered to be at risk, any young person can benefit from HOPE. HOPE provides an opportunity to develop participants' cultural traits through dance, singing, modeling or other extracurricular interest. A licensed counselor is available for weekly discussions or assistance.

Participants will

be able to enter the work world prepared and knowledgeable.

participate in politics and become aware of community needs.

learn daily social and etiquette skills.

be encouraged to complete their education, stay drug-free and practice abstinence.

FOR REAL (Forever Omitting Recidivism, Restructuring, Educating & Activating Life)
This program is designed to assist FIPs with every aspect of re-establishing their lives.

 
We commit to the following...

Provide counseling services

Provide housing referrals and assist in securing stable housing.

Connect the participants to programs that can aid them into being a mentor.

Ensure that they are restored their civil rights if eligible.

Assign/locate legal counsel for participants regarding issues of probation/parole.

Assist in the re-connection of the participants and their family members.

Provide educational programs for furthering their education.

Provide participants an opportunity to participate in organized athletic leagues.

Employment for Me
This program is for youth ages 17 and up and FIPs. The program will give training and guidance to those entrants who may have never been employed and to those who have been displaced and require assistance in becoming re-employed.
The program will:

Provide assistance in completing employment applications.

Provide referrals to potential employers who intend to employ program participants.

Train and practice interviewing techniques.

Match clients to programs for skill enhancement and education with participating schools.

Prepare participants for self employment by utilizing their individual talents and aptitudes.

Provide participants the tools to assist them in becoming gainfully employed and stable.
