THE MEEELJ MISSION

The mission of MEEELJ, Inc. is to provide a true opportunity for at-risk youth and formerly incarcerated persons, regardless of previous educational or criminal background; while helping them to redirect, restore and reconnect as responsible, employable members of society.

Values

We have a responsibility to help make our environment and society the best it can be. M.E.E.E.L.J. was founded because of the experiences of Executive Director Latreese Cooke, which shaped her strong desire to truly make this world a better place for all people regardless of race, gender, or circumstances. Young people who have committed a crime and paid their debt to society should be afforded a fair and genuine opportunity to re-establish their lives. The best thing society can do for a person that has made a mistake is trust them and give them an opportunity. Everyone deserves a second chance. Most of these people have the skills for a career, but life issues may have pushed them down the wrong path.
